Job summary

Provost & Pritchard is seeking Associate, Senior or Principal civil engineers to work with community services and public utility districts operating municipal water and sewer systems in California.

The ideal candidate will have district engineer experience as a consultant or staff, a broad background in water, sewer, and stormwater projects, strong client relations, and demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams. Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on water, sewer, and stormwater projects.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and supervise project teams.
• Strong communication skills for reports, meetings, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact with services district staff and attend in-person public board meetings.
• Lead planning, design, and construction of water and sewer infrastructure projects, including pipelines, treatment facilities, and storage systems.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develop or update improvement standards and drawings.
• Review development applications, prepare conditions of approval and review developer improvement plans.
• Develop and manage budgets for capital improvement projects.
• Prepare or oversee preparation of financial assistance applications and feasibility studies.
• Serve as lead or provide support in administration of construction contracts, including bidding and construction processes.
• Supervise a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation related to engineering projects and performance.
• Teach and mentor assistant and associate level staff.
