Job summary

Germanna Community College is seeking a strategic Director of Student Engagement and Success to lead a portfolio that links students to resources, academic supports, and experiences that promote persistence and achievement.

Reporting to the Dean of Students, you will supervise leaders responsible for Student Life, Testing Services, the Academic Center of Excellence, and Career/Transfer Services, driving collaboration and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education or related field; 5 years in higher education or student affairs.
• At least 3 years supervising staff and leading departments.
• Proven ability to use data and assessment to inform decisions and improve programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership over Student Life, Testing Services, the Academic Center of Excellence, and Career/Transfer Services.
• Coach department leaders, set clear goals, and ensure accountability across portfolios.
• Promote student engagement, coordinate cross-department initiatives, and support academic success and transfer readiness.
• Monitor service utilization and outcomes; use data to guide continuous improvement.
• Travel among Germanna locations; participate in Division of Student Affairs activities and system meetings.
