Charles Lea Center in Spartanburg, SC seeks a Lead Direct Support Professional to provide leadership and hands-on support for people with disabilities. The role emphasizes training, documentation, and daily operational oversight.

The position features a 2nd shift with rotating weekends, competitive pay, a sign-on bonus, paid training, and a generous benefits package. Prior DSP or caregiving experience is preferred; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, Caregiver).
• Minimum 1 year of Direct Support Professional experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and Social Security number.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Ability to pass required background and reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide enhanced communication, training, and operational support to program managers, DSPs, and people supported.
• Lead and mentor staff; assist with onboarding and continuous training.
• Ensure documentation in Therap and UpKeep; monitor medication and meals compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure supplies and resources are available.
• Support daily operations, active treatment, and skill development for people supported.
• Attend routine meetings to review updates and needs and report to Program Manager.
