Job summary

Community Access Services in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Program Lead – Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) to oversee daily operations of a residential program serving adults with IDD. This is a full-time role combining hands-on support with supervision of DSPs to ensure high-quality care and safety.

You will mentor staff, coordinate person-centered plans, and support individuals with daily living tasks, transportation, and community involvement.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with IDD or in a DSP role.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to become an approved company driver.
  • Ability to pass a national background check.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist individuals with mobility needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build meaningful, person-centered relationships that promote independence, dignity, and choice.
  • Assist daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and hygiene.
  • Support community outings, appointments, recreation, employment, and personal goals.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and skill development.
  • Administer medications and complete documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model for Direct Support Professionals.
  • Advocate for the choices, rights, and well-being of the people you support.

What Does a Program Lead Do?

As a Program Lead, you'll continue providing direct support while helping ensure the success of the home.
