Job summary

Community Access Services in Hood River, Oregon is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for a 24-hour residential group home. The role pays $21.75–$22.75 per hour (DOE) with a $1,500 hiring bonus, and includes paid training, ongoing guidance, and opportunities for advancement.

Previous DSP experience is welcome but not required. You will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them reach personal goals, participate in communities, and maintain independence

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to successfully complete a national background check
  • Ability to qualify as an approved company driver
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and provide mobility assistance
  • Previous DSP experience is welcome, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Develop respectful and supportive relationships with individuals receiving services
  • Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal care, hygiene, and household responsibilities
  • Provide support during community activities, appointments, recreation, and other outings
  • Help individuals work toward personal goals and develop everyday skills
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable residential environment
  • Respect and advocate for each person’s choices, dignity, preferences, and well-being

What You'll Do

Direct Support Professionals help the people we serve with everyday activities while encouraging independence, choice, and participation in the community.

Typical responsibilities include:
