Job summary

Resources for Human Development (RHD) in partnership with Apis Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) to mentor Direct Support Professionals and oversee daily residential operations.

The role emphasizes helping individuals with disabilities, providing coaching, promoting safety, and ensuring high-quality services. This full-time position offers training, competitive benefits, and opportunities for career advancement within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of Direct Support Professional experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks and drug screening.
• Ability to complete pre-employment physical and PPD testing.
• Willingness to complete all required orientation and pre-service training.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Group Home Managers to ensure high-quality services and compliance with program standards.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Direct Support Professionals.
• Support daily residential operations and promote a safe, healthy, person-centered environment.
• Assist individuals with daily living skills including cooking, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and independent living activities.
• Support health, wellness, and personal care needs while encouraging healthy lifestyle choices.
• Promote community integration through recreational activities and community participation.
• Assist individuals in budgeting, money management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Communicate effectively with guardians, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
• Advocate for individuals' rights, dignity, independence, and personal choice.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance with agency policies.

What You'll Do

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Flexible schedule based on program needs
• Weekend availability required
• Holiday and evening shifts may be required
• May provide support during staffing shortages or emergency coverage needs

• Ability to lift, assist, and support individuals as needed
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a residential setting
• Ability to participate in community activities and transportation needs
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
