Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC) is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional for the 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.). The role requires compassionate, patient, and dedicated support for individuals with developmental disabilities, including managing staff, training, and medication administration.

This essential position offers a shift differential and comprehensive benefits. Pre-service training includes CPR/First Aid, person-centered techniques, and safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Active, valid driver’s license required.
• Prior experience managing or leading a shift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible schedule and ability to work with an integrated team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, training, and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Manage staff assignments and ensure tasks are completed.
• Run training programs; administer medications; record data.
• Maintain an environment that is supportive, safe, and nurturing for people with disabilities.
• Support daily living skills including self-help, personal hygiene, independence, and social development.
• Monitor leisure activities and respond to crises with effective management techniques.
• Drive facility vans to transport individuals.
• Complete required documentation and required special assignments from supervisors.
