Job summary

The Arc of Litchfield County, Inc. (LARC) is seeking an Assistant House Manager to lead the residential program in Barkhamsted, CT. You’ll supervise staff, provide hands-on care, and help ensure quality service for individuals with I/DD.

You’ll balance leadership with direct support, drive team development, and uphold person-centered plans in a dynamic home setting. LARC offers competitive benefits and supportive leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience supporting individuals with I/DD.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Able to complete background checks, physicals, and required training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities and medication administration.
• Support individuals in health, safety, and comfort.
• Provide transportation to appointments and activities.
• Promote community integration and social engagement.
• Document services, incidents, and progress notes.
• Lead and mentor staff, with hiring/training support.
• Maintain safe, organized, and welcoming home operations.
