Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Associate Director to lead digital scientific workflows for sample management across small molecule, biologics, and vaccines.

You will align DSCS digital tools and drive data strategy, collaborating with scientists to capture, analyze, and visualize complex datasets. The role requires strong SME capabilities, cross-functional influence, and a track record delivering data-driven solutions within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely-related field with ≥3 years of relevant experience.
• M.S. in the same fields with ≥5 years of relevant experience.
• B.S. in the same fields with ≥7 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Own sample management workflows across modalities and ensure data capture consistency.
• Coordinate LIMS, Appian, Benchling integrations and data sources.
• Design dashboards and data exports to enable cross-team scientific collaboration.
• Mentor junior team members and influence scientific business workflows across stakeholders.
