Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) seeks a Staff Pathologist to lead its regional digital pathology program. The role blends surgical pathology case work with advancing a fully digital pathology environment and overseeing WSIs, AI evaluation, and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Staff Pathologist and SME for the Digital Pathology Program, combining surgical pathology case work with dedicated support for the region-wide digital transition.
• Develop and oversee the laboratory's whole slide imaging (WSI) strategy and execution, including evaluation of AI applications.
• Lead Digital Pathology Operations by driving strategy, design, and optimization of workflows from slide scanning to digital sign-out.
• Advance Computational Pathology & AI by evaluating, validating, and implementing AI-powered image analysis and decision-support solutions.
• Enable Enterprise Integration by partnering with IT and vendor teams to deliver integrated digital pathology systems.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance & Quality by leading validation efforts and quality programs per CAP/CLIA/FDA and California requirements.
• Champion Education & Adoption by training pathologists and promoting digital-first best practices across the department.
