Job summary

CSM Kenworth in Columbus is seeking a Service Foreman - Lead Diesel Technician/Mechanic. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years heavy duty truck experience and is mechanically inclined.

Qualifications

• Formal technical school graduate certificate/degree (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 5 years heavy duty truck experience, including processing repair orders, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of service jobs and customer service.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Familiarity with DOS and Windows-based computer programs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of warranty guidelines, claim procedures and company policies.
• Ability to supervise employees and delegate work to optimize shop resources.
• Ability to work under pressure while prioritizing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure service phone calls are handled professionally and expediently.
• Coordinate service shop workflow with Service Leadman and assign jobs to technicians.
• Supervise all assigned service technicians.
• Coordinate department activities between service, parts, and customers.
• Inform customers about scheduling, status of repairs, parts availability and progress.
• Assist service technicians in the shop as needed.
• Maintain adequate inventory of shop supplies and materials.
