Job summary

Vanguard Truck Centers is actively seeking Diesel Technicians to perform repair orders and diagnose diesel truck malfunctions. You will communicate with parts, document work, and ensure safety compliance while maintaining high standards and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred or completion of vocational/ technical school.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with 1–2 years experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain CDL license.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair work on diesel trucks or equipment per repair orders.
• Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and performs repairs to dealership and factory standards.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by customer.
• Examines vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is needed.
• Communicates with service advisor about additional work or timing.
• Documents all work performed on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
• Participates in manufacturer training programs and keeps up with bulletins.
• Supervises apprentice diesel technicians as assigned.
