CrossCountry Freight Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician Lead to inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered vehicles and machinery. You will run diagnostics, identify failures, and guide teammates while ensuring safe, efficient operation.

Some projects involve larger repairs such as transmissions and third member assemblies. Responsibilities include coordinating with the Fleet Manager, testing repaired equipment, and advising on repair strategies while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Certificate program or technical training in mechanics and truck repair preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional diesel technician experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization, logistics, math, and communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance problems.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Experienced with diagnostic computers.
  • Knowledge of working on trailers.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well with team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of forklift repair and maintenance a plus.
  • Commercial Driver’s License a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough DOT inspections and repairs on Company vehicles and machines.
  • Use tools and equipment (impact wrenches, welding, hoists, jacks) with safety.
  • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic diagnostic equipment and wiring schematics.
  • Test drive vehicles to verify repairs.
  • Diagnose and replace parts, valves, bearings, assemblies, etc., incl. heating and A/C.
  • Apply diesel emissions knowledge to repair issues.
  • Ensure parts conform to factory specs by verifying clearances.
  • Other duties as assigned.
