Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking an experienced Technician I at our Gulfport, MS location. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet, while mentoring peers and working independently with supervision.

We emphasize safety, training, and reliable service to keep customers on the road. You will learn Penske’s maintenance processes, use advanced diagnostic tools, and contribute to a clean, well‑equipped shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and ensuring vehicles are safe for customers.
• Performing preventive maintenance services with little supervision and in a timely manner.
• Repairing and troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), including replacing assemblies and turbochargers.
• Keeping the work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
