Job summary

WM in Watkinsville, GA is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic to service and repair trucks and equipment across a wide range of vehicles. You will supervise field and shop work, ensure safety norms, and contribute to a stable, growing team environment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical/hydraulic systems, estimating repair costs, and maintaining accurate repair logs. Expect 7am–7pm shifts, mon–fri, with a shop-based role at our Watkinsville hauling site.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Safety checks on vehicles to protect employees and the community.
• Complete required paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times.
• Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
