Job summary

Clean Harbors Cleveland, OH is looking for a Lead Diesel Mechanic to join a safety conscious team. This role oversees the day-to-day shop operations, supervises maintenance work, and ensures fleet DOT compliance while maintaining all service and parts records.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and on-site/off-site service calls. A strong emphasis on health, safety, and teamwork is required to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of diesel engine experience.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Versed in electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air, ABS, hydraulics, engines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations and supervise maintenance work.
• Ensure fleet compliance with DOT standards and regulations.
• Maintain service and parts records and complete paperwork for PM schedules.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs; include offsite road calls.
• Ensure safe work practices and a clean, organized work environment.
