Job summary

Octus, a leading global provider of credit intelligence, data, and analytics, seeks a Lead DevOps Engineer to oversee devops processes and infrastructure. You will lead a team across DevOps, SRE, Security and IT to automate operations, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of systems and applications.

The role emphasizes mentorship, design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, cloud optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a DevOps role, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Expert knowledge of cloud concepts and services (EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, VPC, Route53 or equivalent).
• Expert level knowledge of Linux and scripting for automation.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve & document RCA of incidents.
• Good knowledge of database configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Security principles with experience in designing and monitoring controls.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools (Terraform, SaltStack or equivalent).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS and managing microservices architectures.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions or equivalent).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Datadog, CloudWatch or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Prioritize workload to increase developer efficiency.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness; AWS experience preferred.
• Collaborate with SRE to develop monitoring and alerting systems.
• Collaborate with Security to enforce security best practices across infrastructure and apps.
• Work with software developers to optimize application performance and reliability.
• Plan and execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Communicate status, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders; participate in on-call rotation.
