Job summary

NextPath Workforce Solutions is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our client’s team in Reading, PA on an onsite, contract basis. The role demands 8+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure, with leadership across multiple tech stacks and strong OpenShift/Podman experience.

The candidate will own CI/CD pipelines, support Java 21 and Node.js services, and guide infrastructure on AWS (incl. IAM and Bedrock), Kafka, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and related services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related fields.
• Experience supporting digital products, SaaS platforms, or customer-facing apps.
• Practical leadership across multiple technologies and teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Drive technical requirements independently and collaborate across teams.
• Support Java 21 and Node.js services, Maven projects, and frontend workflows.
• Provide technical guidance for containerized platforms using OpenShift and Podman.
• Oversee AWS platform practices, including IAM and AWS Bedrock usage.
• Manage infrastructure involving Kafka, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, etc.
• Coordinate API management with Apigee and traffic control with F5.
• Partner with security teams to ensure secure platform and pipeline practices.
• Develop, optimize, and automate infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Support reliable event-driven data flows and application deployment.
• Facilitate dependency management, testing strategies, and release processes.
• Monitor, log, and ensure operational performance and resilience.
• Coordinate incident response and operational risk management.

NextPath Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Lead DevOpsEngineer to join our client’s team in Reading, PA. This is an onsite, contract position.

SALARY

$70-75/hour (depending on experience).

REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or a related discipline
• Experience supporting digital products, SaaS platforms, or customer-facing applications
• Practical leadership experience across technologies including:
  • Java 21 and Maven multi-module projects
  • Kafka and PostgreSQL
  • OpenShift and Podman
  • AWS, including IAM and familiarity with AWS Bedrock
  • Snowflake, Bamboo, CI/CD practices
  • Apigee and F5 networking
  • Linux, Node.js, Vite, Python for scripting or automation
• Experience with infrastructure as code and automation practices
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
