Job summary

CyberCoders, Inc. is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer in the Dallas area to own and evolve the infrastructure and deployment platforms for cloud-native applications.

You will lead architecture and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes-based orchestration on AWS, and infrastructure as code, mentoring engineers and collaborating with development and security to ensure scalable, secure, and cost-efficient systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infra with leadership responsibilities.
• Proven Kubernetes design, operations, and troubleshooting in production.
• Strong AWS expertise with EC2, networking, IAM, and managed services.
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline development (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm for IaC and automation.
• Solid Linux admin skills; networking, security, performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and operation of CI/CD pipelines and release processes to accelerate delivery and reliability.
• Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS with high availability and security.
• Design infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Helm to automate provisioning.
• Manage and optimize cloud resources (EC2, networking, storage) for cost and performance.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for observability and incident response.
• Drive container strategy, image lifecycle, and deployment strategies (rolling, blue/green, canary).
• Collaborate with development and security teams to enforce security and compliance.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews; mentor DevOps/SRE teams.
• Promote automation, testing, and documentation across teams.
• Evaluate new third-party services (CDN, CloudFront) for reliability and performance.

Lead DevOps Engineer

We are located in Northern Dallas, TX, and we are a leading technology company that primarily services the manufacturing and construction industries. We operate in several different countries and have become one of the most innovative and reputable companies in our space.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our infrastructure and deployment platforms, enabling fast, reliable delivery of cloud-native applications. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes-based orchestration on AWS, and infrastructure as code practices. You will mentor engineers, drive operational excellence, and partner with development and security teams to ensure scalable, secure, and cost-efficient systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and operation of CI/CD pipelines and release processes to accelerate delivery and improve reliability.
• Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Design and implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Helm to automate provisioning and configuration.
• Manage and optimize cloud resources (EC2, networking, storage) for cost-efficiency and performance.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system observability and rapid incident response.
• Drive container strategy, image lifecycle management, and best practices for microservices running on Kubernetes and EKS.
• Collaborate with application teams to build secure, automated deployment workflows and enforce security and compliance standards.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews, implement mitigations, and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and coach DevOps and SRE team members, establish standards, and promote a culture of automation, testing, and documentation.
• Evaluate new technologies and third-party services (CDN, Akamai, CloudFront, managed services) and make recommendations to improve reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles with progressive ownership and leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience with Kubernetes (design, operations, troubleshooting) in production environments.
• Strong AWS expertise, including experience with EC2, networking, IAM, and managed services.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and package managers like Helm.
• Solid Linux system administration skills and familiarity with networking, security, and performance tuning.
• Experience with container registries, image hardening, and deployment strategies (rolling, blue/green, canary).
• Familiarity with CDN technologies (Akamai, CloudFront) and caching strategies is a plus.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, or comparable languages) and experience with monitoring/observability tools.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with a track record of mentoring engineers and driving cross-functional initiatives.
