Job summary

Honda of San Marcos is seeking an experienced Lead Detailer to join our Service Department. The Lead Detailer will oversee the daily detailing workflow, maintain high standards, and set an example for the detail team.

You will train detailers, inspect results, and ensure timely completion while keeping a clean and safe work environment. This full-time role requires independence, strong prioritization, and accountability, with a pay scale based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily workflow of the detailing team and help prioritize vehicles based on department needs.
• Complete interior and exterior vehicle detailing to dealership standards.
• Inspect completed vehicles to ensure quality before delivery or inventory return.
• Train and assist detailers with proper cleaning techniques, equipment use, and procedures.
• Help ensure vehicles are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Operate and maintain detailing equipment (pressure washers, vacuums, extractors, polishers).
• Identify vehicles needing extra cleaning and communicate issues to management.
• Help manage detailing supplies and notify when reorders are needed.
• Ensure company and customer vehicles are treated with care and respect.
• Follow all safety procedures and standards.
• Assist with other Service Department needs as requested.

Honda of San Marcos is looking for an experienced and dependable Lead Detailer to join our Service Department! We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong attention to detail, and can lead by example while helping keep our detail operation organized and efficient.

The Lead Detailer will be responsible for completing high-quality vehicle detailing while also helping oversee the daily workflow of the detail team. This position requires someone who can work independently, manage priorities, maintain high standards, and hold themselves and others accountable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily workflow of the detailing team and help prioritize vehicles based on department needs.
• Complete interior and exterior vehicle detailing to dealership standards.
• Inspect completed vehicles to ensure they meet quality expectations before being returned to customers or inventory.
• Train and assist detailers with proper cleaning techniques, equipment use, and dealership procedures.
• Help ensure vehicles are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Properly operate and maintain pressure washers, vacuums, extractors, polishers, and other detailing equipment.
• Identify vehicles requiring additional cleaning or attention and communicate issues to management.
• Help manage detailing supplies and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.
• Ensure company vehicles and customer vehicles are treated with care and respect.
• Follow all dealership safety procedures and standards.
• Assist with other Service Department needs as requested.
