Jim Burke Ford Lincoln in Bakersfield, CA seeks a Detailer to prepare new and pre-owned vehicles for sale and delivery. You will wash, vacuum, and restore cosmetics, apply protections, and replace minor parts as needed.

You will also inspect vehicles for defects and drive vehicles around the lot and to nearby shops for specialized work. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, detailing experience, a basic mechanical aptitude, an unrestricted driver license, and a clean driving

The Detailer prepares new vehicle and pre-owned vehicles for sale and delivery by washing, vacuuming, and restoring interior, exterior, and under-hood cosmetics. In addition to base-level conditioning, he/she buffs, waxes, shampoos, applies fabric protection, and replaces parts such as wiper blades, headlights, etc. The Detailer informally inspect vehicles for defective parts and/or accessories and drives vehicles (automatic and standard transmission) in and around the lot as well as to nearby aftermarket shops for specialized work. In addition, the Detailer may need to replace minor parts and accessories, tighten or adjust loose parts, and provide minute touch-up when directed to do so.

Responsibilities

• Washes and conditions vehicle exterior, including tires, wheels, under-carriage, and under-hood components and waxing/buffing
• Cleans and conditions vehicle interior, including vacuuming, shampooing, applying fabric/leather treatments, and polishing
• Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation
• Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
• Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
• Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Basic computer and internet skills

Detail Weekly Schedules

Our detail department supports our sales department. Sales is open 7 days a week, which means we need detailers 7 days a week. The department is open M-F 8am-6pm, Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am - 5pm.
