Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a detail-oriented lead for BIM modeling, shop drawings, and MEP coordination to support construction projects in Houston. You will collaborate across teams to ensure accurate models, timely deliverables, and constructability feedback that reduces rework.

The role emphasizes guiding the detailing team on smaller projects, coordinating with design and field teams, and driving the final trade coordination with the GC.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED with 6 years detailing experience or 4 years field experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction or related field preferred.
  • Field Foreman/General Foreman preferred.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write, edit and proofread content.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal field methods
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate projects
  • Proficiency with Navisworks, Revit and AutoCAD

  • Ability to write, edit and proofread content.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents
  • Current knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate projects
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to interpret the Construction Schedule to integrate a design pull schedule
  • Working knowledge of applicable AEC, BIM, CAD software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD)
