Job summary

Mauer-Main-Chevrolet is seeking a lead automotive detailer to oversee the day-to-day operations of the detail department. You will manage a team, drive process improvements, and ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining showroom and stock vehicles in pristine condition.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and manage team members to develop a high-performing detail department.
  • Assist the Service Manager with hiring, training, and motivating department staff.
  • Provide enthusiastic leadership to shape team morale and performance.
  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling and workflow management.
  • Ensure compliance with all training requirements and safety regulations (OSHA Rights to Know).
  • Liaise between the detail department and other departments to ensure timely vehicle processing.
  • Maintain inventory for cleaning solutions, equipment and materials.
  • Ensure detail repair orders are accurate and closed timely.
  • Ensure all legal requirements and dealership standards are met.
  • Collaborate with Service, Sales, and Parts to ensure timely turnaround for inventory or guest delivery.
  • Keep showroom and stock vehicles clean and presentable.
  • Ensure all retail vehicles are cleaned prior to sale.

DescriptionAs lead automotive detailer, you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the detail department. This role involves managing team members, ensuring compliance with industry standards, optimizing processes, and enhancing guest satisfaction. You will provide leadership for all aspects of the Detail department operations, to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the Detail department. You are to model behaviors and a culture for success including integrity, respect, drive, community, fun and pride without ego, with self-confidence, and creativity.Job Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to:Lead, coach, mentor, and manage team members, establishing and fostering employee engagements to develop a high performing team.Assist the Service Manager with hiring, training, and motivating the performance of all department team members.Provide enthusiastic leadership to shape team member’s attitudes and build morale.Oversee daily department operations including scheduling, workflow, and team member management.Comply with all dealership and manufacturer job-related training and requirements.Serves as a liaison between detail department and other departments.Keep abreast of cleaning inventory such as cleaning solutions, equipment, materials.Ensure detail repair orders are accurate and closed timely.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations (i.e. OSHA Rights to Know), and standards to maintain the legality and business integrity of the Dealership.Work with the Service, Sales, and Parts departments to ensure a timely turnaround for vehicles to inventory or guest delivery.Always maintains showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition.Ensures all retail vehicles are properly cleaned prior to being sold.QualificationsRequirementsStrong motivation and coaching skills.Excellent customer service skills.Ability to manage change and detail-oriented processes.Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean record.Comply with all dealership and manufacturer job-related training and requirements.Adhere to the employee handbook policies and procedures.Excellent computer skills, including Excel.Ability to achieve goals with high guest satisfaction ratings.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to influence management on process improvements.
