Job summary

Elite Buy-Side Trading Firm is seeking a Lead Desktop Engineer to guide a small team across L1-L3 issues and drive mission-critical infrastructure projects and automation. This role focuses on expanding both on-prem and cloud storage offerings while working across OS environments.

You should have 6+ years of desktop engineering/IT admin experience in financial services, leadership exposure, strong PowerShell automation, and solid Windows Server/O365/AD knowledge.

Qualifications

• 6+ years as Desktop Engineer/Systems Administrator in financial services.
• Experience leading a small team and acting as business contact.
• Strong automation with PowerShell and Windows stack knowledge.
• VMware/Hyper-V experience; storage familiarity a plus.

Compensation:Up to $300k USD + Bonus

Location:NYC (Hybrid)

Overview

A Technology Driven Trading Firm is looking for a highly talented Lead Desktop Engineer with financial services experience to join and lead an elite group of individuals. This team has an unlimited tech budget, promotes a great culture, and is made up of fantastic like-minded individuals.

The Role

Leading a small team across all L1-L3 issues while driving mission-critical infrastructure projects and automation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading a small team across all L1-L3 issues
• Spending time working on mission-critical infrastructure projects
• Automating anything and everything
• Continuing to expand both their on-prem and cloud storage offering
• Working across different OS
  
  

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Desktop Engineer/Systems Administrator within financial services - ideally for a trading firm
• Some experience leading a small team and being the contact point to the business
• Strong knowledge of automation (e.g., PowerShell)
• Good understanding of the Windows Infrastructure stack (Server, O365, AD)
• Experience with VMware or Hyper V
• Familiarity with storage is a plus (both on-prem and cloud)
• A Computer Science Degree is heavily advantageous but not essential
