Job summary

GTech in Michigan seeks a Validation leader to drive Design Verification Planning and Product Validation for automotive electrical systems, focusing on high‑voltage wiring harnesses. This role coordinates with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing across vehicle launches and milestones.

You will own DVPs, develop validation strategies, and lead Technical Design Reviews, with strong emphasis on quality, DFMEA/PPAP, and continuous improvement. Hybrid work: 4 days per week in-office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 5–10 years automotive engineering experience.
• 5–10 years wiring harness or automotive electrical systems experience.
• Experience leading DV and PV.
• Ownership of DVPs.

Responsibilities

• Lead DVPs and PV activities.
• Develop validation strategies, test plans, and prototype requirements.
• Coordinate validation with engineering, suppliers, manufacturing, and testing teams.
• Track validation progress, engineering changes, and milestones.
• Support vehicle launches, quality improvements, and warranty investigations.
• Lead TDRs and maintain validation documentation.
• Support DFMEA, PPAP, APQP, root cause analysis, and continual improvement.

Job description

Lead Design Verification Planning (DVP) and Product Validation (PV) activities for automotive electrical systems, with a primary focus on high-voltage wiring harnesses. Responsible for validation planning, cross-functional coordination, supplier collaboration, testing, quality support, and execution through vehicle launch in accordance with GPDS and program milestones. This is a Validation Leadership role, not a traditional Design & Release engineering position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Design Verification Plans (DVPs) and Product Validation (PV) activities.
• Develop validation strategies, test plans, and prototype requirements.
• Coordinate validation with engineering, suppliers, manufacturing, and testing teams.
• Track validation progress, engineering changes, and program milestones.
• Support vehicle launches, quality improvements, and warranty investigations.
• Lead Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) and maintain validation documentation.
• Support DFMEA, PPAP, APQP, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

• Experience leading Design Verification (DV) and Product Validation (PV).
• Ownership of Design Verification Plans (DVPs).
• Experience creating and managing Design Verification Plans (DVPs).
• GPDS and vehicle launch experience.
• PPAP and automotive product development experience.
• Experience using TeamCenter and/or CATIA.

Experience Preferred:

• High-voltage wiring harnesses.
• Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS).
• Manufacturing or validation engineering.
• Bench, dyno, or vehicle testing.
• Microsoft Office.

Education Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering o Electrical Engineering preferred o Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering acceptable

Education Preferred:

• Master's Degree in Engineering or related field.
