The Role:
The Power and Signal Distribution Systems (PSDS) consist of Low & High Voltage Wire Harnesses/Cables interfacing with electrical devices throughout the vehicle. PSDS also consists of a variety of sub-components (i.e., coax, LVDS/USB and ethernet cables, clips, coverings, connectors, etc). The Power and Signal Distribution Systems (PSDS) DREis responsible forthe design, validation, and release of the harnesses/cables for vehicle programs. It is a DRE position withinMechatronics& Sensing Hardware Team. The position requires global collaboration with vehicle program teams, suppliers, and other product development teams (i.e., electrical architecture, interiors/exterior, body, chassis, vehicle validation, safety, purchasing, marketing, and manufacturing) to integrate and execute the harnesses and cables in the vehicle. The PSDS Release Engineer will directly affect the quality, durability and performance of future ICE and electric vehicles manufactured by GM.
