Job summary

Clearwater Analytics, LLC is seeking a senior design systems designer to shape the vision, governance, and adoption of a production design system across web products. You will own core components, tokens, Figma-to-Storybook workflows, and design-to-code handoffs using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Style Dictionary.

You will mentor designers and engineers, collaborate with Product and Engineering, ensure WCAG accessibility, and drive scalable, data-heavy UI patterns for dashboards and forms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product/UX/UI design experience, including 2+ years on design systems at scale.
• Hands-on experience delivering production design systems end-to-end, from Figma library to shipped code.
• Strong UI development skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
• Proficiency with Claude Code or similar AI-assisted coding tools for faster workflows.
• Experience making a design system consumable by non-designers and AI tooling via APIs/MCPs.
• Hands-on experience building Figma-to-Storybook pipelines and keeping design and code in sync.

Responsibilities

• Shape the vision, roadmap, and governance for Clearwater’s design system across all web products.
• Design and build core components, patterns, and tokens using Figma and code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React).
• Own the Figma-to-Storybook workflow, ensuring sync between design and engineering.
• Collaborate with engineering to maintain the design system token pipeline and shared component library.
• Utilize AI-assisted tooling (Claude Code) to accelerate component development and handoffs.
• Define standards, guidelines, and documentation to drive adoption across distributed teams.
• Mentor designers and engineers contributing to the system and raise craft quality.
• Drive adoption by identifying gaps and prioritizing new components and patterns in data-heavy enterprise UIs.
