Job summary

Henis Group, an established architectural signage manufacturer, seeks a Design Manager to lead its in-house design team in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This hands-on leadership role requires guiding projects from concept through engineering, fabrication, and installation.

You will mentor designers, strengthen standards, and collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Production, and Installation to ensure every project is accurate, buildable, and production-ready.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of design experience in architectural signage or related field.
• Experience managing designers, workloads, and performance.
• Strong knowledge of sign fabrication, materials, and installation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Design Department, overseeing performance and scheduling.
• Assign projects and balance department capacity to meet deadlines.
• Review drawings for accuracy, buildability, and alignment with project scope.
• Ensure dimensions, materials, mounting details, fabrication requirements, and installation considerations.
• Establish and maintain design standards, templates, and file structures.
• Identify conflicts early to prevent delays with production timelines.
• Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Production, Engineering, and Installation.
• Manage outside engineering and design vendors to meet requirements.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop design talent while building a collaborative team.
• Build trusted relationships with architects, developers, and key clients.
