Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for Large Mining Trucks to provide technical leadership in engine installation and cooling system design, development, integration, and validation.

Qualifications

Advanced engineering knowledge to solve complex Large Mining Truck design challenges.
Ability to evaluate complex truck systems, interpret test/field data, and propose practical solutions.
Knowledge of product design principles, development processes, and engineering methodologies.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of Large Mining Truck Engine Installation and Cooling systems with innovative solutions.
Develop and document functional requirements and translate needs into designs and specs.
Research emerging technologies and competitive products for improvements and cost optimization.
Coordinate prototype builds, testing, and validation activities to verify performance and durability.
Perform engineering analysis and root cause investigations using data and problem-solving methods.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated machine solutions.
Support supplier development and component quality initiatives to drive improvements.
Provide technical leadership across New Product Introduction programs and mentor others.
