Job summary

Vax is establishing a new Advanced Development team and seeks a Lead Design Engineer to drive concept generation for dry products, from vacuums to motor systems. You will build demonstrators and set technical direction while mentoring junior engineers.

This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, rapid prototyping, and close collaboration with senior stakeholders to deliver next-generation product concepts.

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in Mechanical or Product Design Engineering with extensive product development experience.
• Proven track record of concept development and prototyping, not detailed design or sustaining work.
• Strong CAD skills with CREO/NX/SolidWorks/CATIA.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept generation and rapid prototyping for dry products from idea to demonstrator.
• Mentor and develop junior Advanced Development engineers as the team grows.
• Define product and technology architectures and solve hard technical problems.
• Work with external suppliers to bring concepts to life.
• Present trade offs, risk and technical summaries to senior stakeholders.

ScopeoftheRole
