Job summary

Cedar Mill Bible Church in Portland, OR seeks a Design & Communications Director to lead the church's visual presence across digital and print channels. You will oversee aesthetics, plan campaigns, and coordinate a team of volunteers and contractors for media production.

The role requires a strong portfolio, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and collaboration with staff to reflect the church's mission and values.

Qualifications

• You are a follower of Jesus and align with our Statement of Faith and Seven Distinctives.
• Portfolio demonstrating creative work is required.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with MailChimp.
• Experience with Squarespace.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience with video production or willingness to learn.
• Willingness to collaborate with team and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Create artwork packages for sermon series and adapt designs for sermon slides, announcements, digital signage, motion graphics, and other church media.
• Design and produce physical media (shirts, envelopes, invitations, banners, signage).
• Shape and unify the visual and narrative style of all materials.
• Design and create a weekly congregation newsletter.
• Gather communication requests from staff and plan communications.
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize church communications across platforms.
• Keep website content up-to-date and visually appealing.
• Lead volunteers/contractors for social media, photography, and video production.
