Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dental clinic operations. The role includes chairside assistance, leading dental assisting staff and students, coordinating clinic activities, and ensuring efficient workflow under NYS licensure.

You will train staff, manage supplies, and help address patient and faculty concerns. Responsibilities cover all functions of a Licensed Dental Assistant, plus guidance on equipment, inventory, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Dental Assistant Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Dental and Dental Auxiliary Education Program required
• 3 years experience as a Dental Assistant or in an Operating Room environment preferred
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Performs all functions of a Licensed Dental Assistant.
• Monitors and provides direction for all dental assistant activities and coordinates clinic workflow.
• Oversee inventory, equipment, and supplies; approve replacements and ensure room utilization.
• Oversee training, onboarding, and staff development; address concerns as needed
