Job summary

Aeropostale, Inc seeks a Senior Designer – Denim to own the design and development of seasonal denim collections from concept through production. Lead trend-driven design, collaborate with Merchandising, Product Development, and Sourcing to deliver compelling denim assortments that meet brand objectives and market opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of denim design experience within the apparel industry.
• Extensive knowledge of denim fabrics, construction techniques, garment washes, finishes, fits, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of current fashion trends, consumer behavior, and the global denim market.
• Exceptional sketching, illustration, and presentation skills with the ability to create detailed technical flats.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional partnerships throughout the product creation lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design & Creative Leadership: Lead the design and development of seasonal denim collections across assigned categories, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetic, customer needs, and business goals.
• Product Development & Technical Execution: Develop detailed design specifications and technical packages that communicate design intent, construction requirements, trims, washes, and finishing details.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Merchandising, Sourcing, Production to balance design vision with feasibility, cost, and timelines.
• Trend & Market Analysis: Research global denim trends, runway and market developments to inform product direction.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor junior designers and promote excellence in design execution, organization, and process.
