Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL seeks a Principal Test Engineer to translate customer requirements into robust test solutions and to lead end-to-end test planning for defense systems.

You will develop and execute integrated test plans, coordinate across teams and suppliers, and ensure traceability through the ITP while driving design improvements and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degrees with fewer years.
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing integrated test plans for complex defense systems.
• Experience planning and executing HW testing with requirements traceability and systems engineering processes.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret/SAP approval.

Responsibilities

• Translate contractual requirements into test solutions balancing schedule and cost.
• Develop and execute integrated test plans, procedures, and schedules for subsystems and systems.
• Coordinate testing across internal teams and suppliers; ensure traceability in ITP.
• Analyze system performance and produce evaluation reports; review supplier test data.
• Mitigate risks with proof-of-concept test methods; manage data acquisition and documentation.
• Serve as liaison with customers, contractors, and stakeholders on test matters.
