Job summary

ITAC Solutions is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer / Systems Engineer for a defense electronics client in Huntsville, AL (or Franklin, NC). The role blends engineering, customer solutions, and supplier strategy, remaining hands-on from concept through delivery.

The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance and a 4-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with prior experience in defense/aerospace.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• 4-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Background in a for-profit defense/aerospace company, not solely military.
• Comfortable working the full lifecycle from customers to supplier sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Shape proposal solutions, BOMs, and procurement strategies with BD and Engineering.
• Evaluate supplier quotes to sharpen proposal competitiveness.
• Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality for program execution.
• Develop component integration strategies and electronics kits for assembly and test.
• Optimize BOMs for cost, manufacturability, lifecycle, and availability.
• Manage component lifecycle planning and obsolescence mitigation.
