Job summary

Partnerize is seeking a high-impact Database Engineer to own its database infrastructure, including on-prem and cloud deployments. You will manage daily operations, backups, and performance tuning while steering upgrades and migrations.

A proven track record in MySQL, Linux administration, and cross-team collaboration is essential for success. You will mentor peers, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and drive automation and reliability across the database estate in a fully remote role

Qualifications

• Experience owning large production database infrastructure with accountability for availability and performance.
• Ability to plan and execute complex database upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Strong Linux system administration and networking knowledge for on-prem and cloud environments.
• Experience with MySQL replication, high availability, and disaster recovery planning.
• Ability to mentor engineers and communicate complex topics to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own daily database operations and backups, and tune slow queries.
• Design and maintain Linux servers hosting large distributed databases.
• Plan and deliver major database upgrades and migrations with clear execution plans.
• Act as escalation point for database issues and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Lead automation of management/monitoring for the database platform.
