Job summary

PrizePicks is seeking a senior DBRE leader to own cloud database infrastructure and data lifecycle across live, high-traffic events. You will partner with Infrastructure on shared systems, build observability, and mentor a growing database team.

You will drive security, cost management, and compliance while ensuring uptime for peak moments like major events. Remote-friendly with preference for Atlanta area candidates and open to the U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading database, DevOps, or SRE teams in real-time/high-concurrency environments.
• Strong cloud infra experience, preferably GCP; relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience in identity management, observability stacks, and incident response.
• Track record of cloud cost management and vendor relationships.
• Security practices and compliance for consumer platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud database infrastructure (AlloyDB, Redis, Kafka) and capacity planning.
• Lead data lifecycle, aging, archiving, and retention strategies.
• Develop database observability with clear signals and dashboards.
• Manage on-call, war-room readiness, and vendor escalation for live events.
• Drive data continuity, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Mentor technical leads and grow the database team.
