Job summary

NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP is seeking a Lead Analyst – Database Support to efficiently process, analyze, and visualize financial and operational data for NYSEG and RG&E, develop and maintain SQL databases, data-processing apps, dashboards, and reporting tools to support timely business decisions.

You will collaborate with business users, IT teams, vendors, and other technical partners to align data systems with financial needs, monitor performance, ensure data accuracy, and deliver actionable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience analyzing large volumes of data from various sources.
• Understanding of SQL programming and database fundamentals.
• Ability to create applications from scratch and maintain existing applications using Microsoft .NET.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document SQL databases, data models, related data structures, code, queries, automated processes, dashboards, and reporting logic to support financial, operational, and reporting needs.
• Design, build, test, deploy, and support database solutions, applications, dashboards, and reporting platforms that improve efficiency and reliability.
• Monitor database and application performance to support uninterrupted service, data availability, and timely reporting.
• Maintain dashboards, reporting platforms, and data visualization tools that translate database outputs into actionable insights for business users and leadership.
• Ensure dashboards, reporting tools, source data, reporting logic, and outputs are accurate, current, complete, and aligned with business rules and reporting requirements.
• Build datasets, recurring reports, management dashboards, ad hoc analyses, and data products tailored to evolving business priorities.
• Partner with business users and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, validate data sources, define dashboard needs, and align data infrastructure with decision-making needs.
• Support timely processing, payment, reporting, and analysis of critical financial data through accurate source data, reporting logic, and dashboard outputs.
• Coordinate with Avangrid database administrators, IT teams, vendors, auditors, and other resources to resolve needs.
• Evaluate new applications, reporting platforms, and data visualization solutions by understanding department needs and recommending practical solutions.
