Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead data efforts for Slack monetization from the platform perspective. The role anchorsSlack's strategy to become the central work hub, enabling custom integrations and driving topline growth.

You will partner with Platform product and GTM teams to uncover insights, build scalable data foundations, and guide executive-level decisions. In this leadership position, you’ll mentor teams, shape measurement strategies, and translate complex analyses

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in product data science in related tech industries; 2+ years in a DS tech lead or managerial role.
• Strong track record using data to influence product decisions and outcomes.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one data-science language (Python, R, or Scala).
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow is highly desirable.
• Experience with large-scale data technologies like Spark, Presto, Hive, Hadoop.

Responsibilities

• Establish partnerships with product and business stakeholders to identify opportunities and prioritize roadmaps.
• Apply statistical methods and forecasting to understand user behavior and growth drivers.
• Design measurement strategies and success metrics for products and initiatives.
• Deliver deep-dive analyses to drive revenue growth and user adoption.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to build trusted datasets and scalable foundations.
• Set and communicate a clear data-driven vision aligned with business goals.
• Partner with product researchers and GTM teams to influence topline decisions.
