Job summary

Compass is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to guide the data science team in building scalable ML solutions. You will partner with senior stakeholders and engineering leaders to shape strategic analytics and drive data-driven decisions across the organization.

You will mentor colleagues, set technical standards, and oversee end-to-end projects from conception through production, applying advanced methods in time-series, NLP, and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of data science experience leading end-to-end projects.
• Expertise in time-series forecasting, deep learning, and causal inference.
• Experience deploying ML models and familiarity with MLOps workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development, validation, and deployment of large-scale predictive models.
• Design rigorous data-driven research to analyze factors affecting business outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and engineering teams to translate goals into analytical frameworks.
• Communicate complex methodologies and findings clearly to executives and technical audiences.
• Mentor junior data scientists and promote best practices in coding and research.
