Compass in New York is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to drive ML strategy and scalable analytics. You’ll partner with senior stakeholders to translate business goals into data-driven initiatives.

Lead end-to-end development of predictive models, conduct rigorous research, mentor peers, and promote clean code, testing, and MLOps for production deployments.

Compensation includes a base range of $175,500–$195,000 with bonuses and RSUs, plus comprehensive benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in data science with a proven track record of end-to-end projects.
• Deep expertise in time-series forecasting, deep learning, causal inference.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and model development.
• Hands-on experience productionizing ML models and familiarity with MLOps workflows.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development, validation, and deployment of large-scale predictive models and algorithms.
• Design and execute rigorous data-driven research to analyze multi-factor impacts on business outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and engineering partners to identify opportunities and deliver insights.
• Synthesize and communicate complex methodologies and findings to C-level and technical audiences.
• Mentor junior data scientists and promote best practices in the team.
