About the Team

The Security Data Science team is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to develop and deploy advanced security solutions. This role requires expertise in leveraging big data and machine learning to create analytics and threat detection methods, focusing on real-time capabilities to mitigate platform customer security risks. As a senior Individual Contributor, you will combine deep technical data science/engineering skills with technical leadership, directing team efforts within an Agile framework to ensure effective delivery of security products while maintaining best practices and providing mentorship.

What you will be doing:

• Developing and deploying real-time security defense products: leading research and building innovative threat detection techniques, overseeing AI solutions from conception to production, collaborating with threat experts, owning technical domains, and ensuring solution reliability and scalability.
• Enhancing machine learning infrastructure and operational reliability: working with infrastructure teams to develop developer-centric, cost-effective real-time processing systems, ensuring high service availability, resolving data pipeline issues, and utilizing big data technologies (Spark, Flink, Kafka) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Leading team initiatives: serving as a technical authority, engaging in all Agile phases, employing modern technologies and best practices, mentoring team members, establishing engineering standards, and managing cross-functional projects.

What you should have:

• At least seven years of experience in data science and software engineering, applying methodologies to practical challenges.
• Proficiency in machine learning and data mining techniques.
• Experience in research projects and their implementation in production.
• Skills in big data tools and distributed systems like Spark, Flink, Kafka.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, or Golang.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance.
• Leadership in Agile team initiatives.

Nice to have:

• Experience in security-focused big data applications, anomaly detection, threat analysis.
• Knowledge of security fundamentals, cloud platforms, and large-scale PaaS/IaaS systems.
• Ability to improve data reliability and collaborate on incident response, including SOAR platforms.
• Experience with NLP, ML, Generative AI, and fine-tuning LLMs.
