Job summary

Orum is expanding its data platform with a modern analytics stack. We seek a Principal/Staff Data Engineer to own data architecture end-to-end, spanning data engineering and analytics.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, Finance, GTM, and Operations to build scalable data systems and a trusted analytics layer used across the company. You will lead real-time and batch pipelines, ensure data quality and governance, and own Looker end-to-end.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Data/Analytics roles with ownership of data platforms.
• Deep SQL, data modeling, and analytics-oriented schema design.
• Hands-on dbt experience and modern ELT architectures.
• Experience with ClickHouse and BigQuery in production.
• Looker in production, LookML development, performance tuning.
• Streaming tech such as Kafka or Pub/Sub, plus cloud infra.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive data platform architecture and roadmap.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ClickHouse and BigQuery.
• Design dbt layers and reusable data models.
• Own reliability, performance, cost, and scalability of workloads.
• Create real-time and batch data pipelines for analytics and AI.
• Establish data quality, testing, lineage, governance, observability.
• Own Looker environment end-to-end including LookML models.
• Develop a semantic layer with consistent metrics company-wide.
• Collaborate with Product, Finance, GTM, and Ops on data models and dashboards.
• Support ad hoc analysis and establish dashboard ownership processes.
