Job summary

Referment, in collaboration with a capital markets fintech, seeks a Lead Software Developer to set the technical direction for a modern cloud data platform. You will provide hands-on leadership across backend and data initiatives, with a focus on Snowflake-based analytics and enterprise data warehousing.

The role combines software development with architecture ownership, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with AWS-based services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 10+ years of enterprise software engineering experience.
• Proven track record leading complex technical projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong relational database expertise and query optimization.
• Extensive experience designing Snowflake-based data platforms in production.
• Solid background in data warehousing, dimensional modelling and OLAP.
• Strong Java development with Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience with AWS services and infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and data engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of the data platform architecture.
• Drive adoption of Snowflake-based solutions for reporting, analytics, and AI-enabled data products.
• Own database architecture, performance tuning across Snowflake, PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
• Design and maintain scalable data ingestion, transformation and integration pipelines.
• Build analytics and self-service reporting capabilities, including semantic models and BI integration.
• Partner with backend engineers on scalable Java services and cloud-native development on AWS.
• Develop Python tooling for automation and data processing.
• Define engineering standards and mentor engineers across teams.
