Job summary

Bold Orange is seeking a lead data engineer to own the Snowflake-based data platform for multiple accounts. You will drive discovery, design, and delivery of data models, warehouses, and ELT/ETL pipelines, while mentoring engineers and defining best practices.

Proficiency in Python and C#/.NET is required, with experience across Snowflake, Redshift, and Databricks. You will collaborate with solution architects, project managers, and client teams, shaping technical direction and ensuring

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with the majority in data engineering.
• Demonstrated technical leadership: owning the technical solution for an account or team.
• Deep hands-on Snowflake expertise: data models, warehouses, ELT/ETL, and performant SQL.
• Ownership of a data model or platform design from requirements through production.
• Experience leading discovery and shaping technical solutions with clients or stakeholders.
• Ability to estimate and plan work accurately at system and project level.
• Knowledge of Snowflake performance tuning, cost optimization, and RBAC/security.
• Proficiency in Python and C# for back-end development.
• Experience with relational SQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Proven design and consumption of REST APIs.
• DevOps familiarity: CI/CD, deployment automation, server configuration.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution and provide oversight from discovery to production and support.
• Lead discovery and present solutions and trade-offs to client stakeholders.
• Architect and own system design including data models, warehouses, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop and maintain data models, warehouses, and pipelines in Snowflake for performance and cost.
• Design and build back-end APIs in Python and C#/.NET.
• Own integrations with marketing, CRM, and analytics platforms.
• Manage CI/CD and deployment paths across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Establish engineering practices and raise the team’s technical bar.
• Communicate with senior stakeholders and guide multi-client teams.
