Job summary

Avanade Inc. is seeking a Sr Data Engineering & Data Governance Architect to lead strategic governance initiatives and design scalable data platforms.

You will guide client-focused data estate transformations, oversee Purview implementations, and drive architectural decisions across Azure-based modernization programs. You will mentor peers, translate complex concepts for executives, and actively contribute to sales opportunities, leveraging your deep knowledge of Data & AI capabilities to

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in large enterprise data governance programs and cloud data platforms.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for senior stakeholders.
• Experience with modern Data & AI capabilities (structured/unstructured data, streaming, IoT, GenAI).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on client projects and governance initiatives.
• Design and implement Purview solutions and governance standards.
• Develop plans/roadmaps and design artifacts for architecture reviews.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate across the Avanade community.
• Lead data and analytics platform development using Python, SQL, Azure Data Services, Fabric, Databricks.
• Stay current with Data & AI tech to drive innovations.
• Drive cross-region, cross-industry data modernization and governance initiatives.
• Support sales and business development efforts with technical guidance.
