8th Light is a remote-first data platform leader that partners with clients to design and deliver modern data infrastructure. You’ll own architecture end-to-end, shape data strategy, and lead production deployments while mentoring teams and maintaining hands-on ownership for complex problems.

The role emphasizes scalable data pipelines, real-time processing, and platform evolution, with opportunities to work across healthcare data and advanced analytics.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering data platforms end-to-end.
• Strong architectural ownership and data strategy skills.
• Hands-on with cloud data services and infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and delivery for modern data platforms end-to-end.
• Shape client data strategy and design scalable solutions.
• Lead implementation from design through production.
• Partner directly with client stakeholders from requirements to executive updates.
• Mentor internal team members and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Balance technology choices while meeting deadlines.
• Advise clients on architecture, scalability, and platform evolution.
• Lead retrospectives and feedback conversations with teams and clients.
• Document outcomes and drive action items forward.
• Contribute to team health and company culture.
