Job summary

8th Light is seeking a data engineering lead to shape data modeling and movement across diverse client engagements. You will own the data layer on projects, guiding architecture and delivering scalable pipelines that handle increasing data complexity.

As a senior contributor, you’ll mentor teammates, collaborate with client technical leaders, and help drive our engineering culture and best practices across engagements.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable data pipelines ingesting data from diverse sources (EHRs, claims, APIs, CRMs).
• Proficiency with at least one cloud data platform (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery).
• Strong SQL skills; data modeling and optimization; Python/Scala/Java for data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Make immediate contributions to projects and build trust with clients.
• Design and build data pipelines and schemas for growing data volumes.
• Lead data architecture discussions, weigh tradeoffs, document reasoning.
