Job summary

Pfizer seeks a hands-on Data Integration Engineer to own the design, build, and operation of data pipelines connecting Medical Affairs AI solutions to enterprise data sources. Reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering, you will translate architecture requirements into production-grade pipelines with governance and reliability for AI delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on data engineering or application integration experience.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake) and data governance.
• Experience with API design/integration (REST/GraphQL) for data access.
• Experience with AI/ML data access patterns and RAG pipelines.
• Solid Agile delivery and CI/CD practice.
• Experience identifying PI/PII in data pipelines and masking/de-identification.
• Knowledge of data governance and data cataloging practices.
• Experience with engineering in matrixed, cross-functional delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines and integration patterns connecting core enterprise systems to Medical Affairs' AI and analytics platforms.
• Build and maintain targeted data pipelines for AI solutions, prioritizing reuse across solutions.
• Establish and follow data pipeline coding standards aligned with data models and cataloging.
• Monitor data pipeline latency to meet timeliness thresholds for each use case.
• Partner with Solution Architecture to implement RAG pipelines, vector databases, and GraphRAG patterns.
• Ensure data feeding AI systems is well-governed, labeled, and quality-monitored.
• Apply automation to accelerate data delivery and AI readiness.
• Support context-aware models by capturing necessary business context in data structures.
