General Dynamics - IT is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to guide a team in designing, building, and optimizing scalable backend and data integration systems. The role emphasizes full software lifecycle expertise, performance, and cross-platform integration in dynamic environments.

The candidate will develop and deploy software in cloud environments, implement REST APIs, enhance security controls, and ensure code quality through rigorous testing and configuration management.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
• 15+ years of relevant experience
• Experience across full software development lifecycle
• Deep expertise in backend and data integration systems
• Experience with REST APIs and cloud environments
• Hands-on with Docker/Kubernetes and AWS

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, and optimize scalable backend and data integration systems.
• Provide bug fixes and GUI improvements to meet operational requirements.
• Develop and modify application source code to meet new requirements.
• Design, develop, and deploy software in cloud environments.
• Integrate externally developed code into core libraries and tools.
• Develop REST APIs and maintain module APIs and interfaces.
• Provide ad-hoc user training to customers and stakeholders.
• Ensure configuration management and testing across the software lifecycle.
